Doctor RPM is Rick D’Louhy, Ph.D. – Even with a doctorate in economics, his main interest has always been automotive related. When not doing car-guy stuff, he’s been a governmental administrator, land developer and even a college instructor. For more than twenty years, he has produced and promoted Florida’s biggest collector car events. He now invites everyone to the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise, his big, popular event the fourth weekend of October each year. With many automotive articles published, he is presently co-writing a book on early fiberglass sports cars. Much of his knowledge comes from working on interesting high-powered vehicles he has owned including a SB Chevy powered Maserati Ghibli and a SB Ford powered Sunbeam Tiger. He currently has several unique cars including a 2,100 lb. ‘57 LaDawri Conquest fiberglass-bodied sports car that sits on a newer GM chassis, with a 455 Olds and a 4 speed manual. On Tailfins and Chrome, as Doctor RPM, Rick exudes enthusiasm and demonstrates familiarity accumulated over the years as an Automotive Historian & Researcher.
