House of Kolor

House of Kolor® was founded in 1956 by world-renowned custom painter, Jon Kosmoski. Jon had rebuilt a ’40 Chevy Coupe and took it to the best paint shop in town. After having the car returned to him with a less than satisfactory paint job from the “best” shop in town, Jon knew it could be done better and decided to learn how.
Jon quickly became well-known for his skills as a custom painter, however, he was displeased with the problematic nitrocellulose laquers and alkyd enamels of that day, which would sometimes sun-fade or cold-crack.

Jon wanted something better and if it wasn’t out there out then he would have to invent it. Together with a doctor in polymer chemistry Jon set out to produce custom paints that wouldn’t tarnish, crack or sun-fade, even in severe climates or radical temperature changes. In addition, it would withstand the many coats required for a custom job. When Jon’s products and skills came together his paint jobs began to win awards, and people began to talk. Word spread and by 1965 House of Kolor® was nationally renowned as the high-caliber paint for customizing vehicles.
In 1997 House of Kolor® became part of the Valspar Automotive Coatings Division. Jon continues to play an important role in House of Kolor®. He travels around the world conducting training classes, and continues to share his innovative ideas, helping to keep House of Kolor® on the leading edge of custom automotive coatings.
House of Kolor® maintains its integrity and reputation as a leader in the custom coatings industry by using only the finest ingredients in the production of its award-winning paint products. Our unique product line gives custom painters the freedom to use their imaginations to design, invent, and create “one of a kind” custom paint jobs.

Painted by Krisztian Atkari from Csongrad, Hungary
We at House of Kolor® invite you – whether you are a seasoned veteran painter or someone just getting their feet wet – to try our products and see what amazing finish our products mixed with your imagination can produce for you.

Brighton Motorsports, Scottsdale, AZ

The Passion Burns Bright

visit Brighton Motorsports official website:

What began as Shane and Karen Mustoe’s shared passion for European and American collector cars has evolved into 20,000 square feet of showroom, mechanical repair and body shop space, otherwise known as Brighton Motorsports and Brighton Ranch Paint & Body. These two entities work together seamlessly under one umbrella to deliver an old-world commitment to excellence while servicing your vehicle and assuring your complete satisfaction.

Shane Mustoe

Shane’s first sports car was a 1964 MGB. He bought it in 1972 while he was in high school. By the age of 20 he had bought and sold numerous British, Italian and iconic American Cars. While Shane’s taste in cars is very diverse and eclectic, he recognizes the common thread that binds car people together and enjoys them as much as the cars themselves. In his opinion, “cars are meant to be driven.” Accordingly, he is proud to offer many driver-quality automobiles in the Brighton collection, thereby keeping his own passion alive as well as that of other driver-collectors.

Karen Mustoe

Karen’s love for cars began in childhood. She grew up in Texas where she and her father would ride motorcycles and follow changes in car design with keen interest. To this day, attending a great car auction takes precedence over a day of shopping with the girls. In 1988, Karen moved to Scottsdale where she began a career in sales and marketing. Brighton Motorsports provides her the opportunity to combine her business acumen with her passion for cars. Karen’s favorite part of the day is sharing her love of cars with her customers.

He’s owned and restored a number of important collectible cars. His personal favorites are American muscle-cars, and today he’s assisting his son’s restoration of a 1974 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport.
